May 4th 2010

On the irregular day of the 13th of April, and the miraculous year of 2010, The bright and wonderful school of Hawkesdale P12 College were given the chance to talk and interact with the interesting pupils of Malaysia. This was made possible thanks to the inventive invention of Skype.
The youthful students of that who attended the intellegent teacher’s IT class that is Mrs Anne Mirtchin’s IT class, had both a extraordinary and eye opening experience.
So now you will here about the order of the events of which that happened on that day of the 13th of April in the year of 2010 on account of that is what the order of the events that happened on the day of the 13th of april 2010.
Students in the class of Mrs Mirchin’s 2010 year 11 class of IT were able to interact also using the marvelous, addicting soft ware (oppisite of hardware) that is “illuminate” and we use skype (mentioned above in “the order of events” section of the blog post on this blog that is mine, which i created in this class) i became familiar with the software and would suggest this type of software to anyone with access to it, on account of it is great fun using and people are able to contact others using it.
I enjoyed the creative and good class of IT that my teacher runs, it is good i especially liked the part where we were on illuminate because we got to draw and stuff with the smart and healthy people from the sparkly place of Malaysia. i would THOROUGHLY reccommend this to ANYONE. i had a fun time.
I would like to see more links like this all around the spherical world of the earth, infact it would be awsome and cool to see that people from other sides of the world will be able to talk to other smart people from opther sides of the world too. i would be really cool. Also this would create other opportunities for students to learn about other cultures first hand eliminating the need to travel, though there really is no substitution for tyraveling in my own words.
Talking to students sometimes became a problem when microphones were giong in and out and we were not able to hear properly on account of our microphones weren’t working properly. other than that the video was fine though sometimes it would cut in and out but no MAJOR technical difficultuies. i worked well over all.
People are now able to communicate effectively with people from around the world. it is a great way to learn about other cultures, but as stated before there is (in my opinion) no substitution for traveling. it was a great experience for all.

My favorite holiday is christmas. It is a relaxing time (for me anyway.) We usually have a turkey to eat and a whole lot of yummy food until we cant eat at all! Christmas signifies the time when Jesus Christ was born and the Virgin Mary and Jesus Christ was given gifts of Gold Frankensense and Mhur (lol i dont know if thats how u spell them. lol.) It is a really long and relaxing holiday. We meet a lot of reletives and the whole family comes together for a couple of days.

We did a survey on Denver, Hawkesdale and Nabulas on technology. Here are the results
As you can see Denver is the leading technology consumers out of the three of us.
On the 26th of may the year 9 and 10 students went to Tasmania and stayed there for a week. While staying in Tasmania we went to “ZOODOO” and saw lots of animals like Tasmanian devils, Camels, Emus, Tigers, Ostriches, Monkeys and heaps more.
We hand fed the Emus and Ostriches while driving on a mini bus it was really funny and scary at the same time Everyone was climbing all over the place! it was a really weird feeling.
At the end of the tour there was a Shetland pony race. They had to race around a big loop like at the real horse races only it was a lot smaller. My horse won and we were give lolliepops. ZOODOO was a real highlight for me. Also being in tasmania and doing lots of things was a really good experience. The only downside was that there was a little to much driving on the bus.
Overall Tasmania was an awsome trip!
Skate on my Veranda, Eat, Play on the computer
Eating is good : ) But my favorite activity is playing on the computer. i go on an online game called runscape it is set in the medieval times and its really fun. i also go on MSN and talk to people and Bebo.
I suppose its just to see all of my friends and looking foward to all my electives and stuff. i like sport and music especially, they are my favorite. its a lot more fun at school to, well.. it beats being at home all day (sometimes lol) some days i think i could just sleep in till about 6:00 pm lol.
ANZAC Day – 25 April – is probably Australia’s most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The soldiers in those forces quickly became known as ANZACs, and the pride they soon took in that name endures to this day.
2 questions for you! collaberation Nation
1. What is the most poular sport played over there?
2. What do you like to do most on the weekend?
I hope that they arent silly questions? lol :]
1. What is the best thing about living where you do?
- There is easy access to different shops and you are more open to different people and have more friends… well i think
2. Tell us why your school is unique?
- Hawkesdale College is unique because there is just the right amount of people so you dont get the feeling that you are a loner but you feel that you know everybody and dont feel left out.
1. Does the Kangaroo population in the outback outmatch the human population?
- Yes in central Australia there is because there is lots of kangaroos there. And not as many people.
2. How many years do you go to school before college or university?
- 13 years. That’s including every year you could possibly be at school but you can also drop out at year 10 …so…really you only have to be at school for 11 years including grade prep.
3. What are the common sports that they play in Australia?
- In Australia we play a range of different sports. That includes: Footy AFL ( Kicking a ball through the long white sticks), Cricket, soccer, basketball and Netball. Well they are the main ones anyway.
4. Do Aussies have like pet sheep and stuff… Any different pets then cats or dogs…?
- Lol! No we don’t actually have pet sheep… Some people do but its not popular. And yes we can have lots of different pets: dogs, cats, snakes, rabbits, ants, birds, worms, fish, and mice! Hell! There is heaps!!!
When you are a teacher you have to… well…(my opinion)
1. you have to know what the students are like and what they enjoy.
2. you have to know what their learning preferences are.
3. you have to have a good personality the cooler and nicer you are, the more respect.
4. being very organised is good to in some ways, because the students dont want to be waiting all day but on fridays its especially a good thing not to be organised, if you catch my drift.
5. a teacher that lets us have our say on what we do. Not let us over rule what the teacher wants, but lets us have an opinion and respects that and takes it into account.
Yay its labour day!
The origin of Labour Day comes from the 1860s when the general campaign for an eight hour working day began. Labour Day is a day set aside to pay tribute to working men and women beacause the Stone masons believed in 8 hours rest, 8 hours sleep and 8 hours recreation. This issue was important for employees, many of whom were expected to work for unreasonably long hours in bad conditions.
This year im in year 9 and its really fun!
1. I want to be more confident.
2. I hope to improve my organisational skills.
3. Im going to try at things that i dont really like.
4. I want to get better at soccer.
5. I want to read more regularly.
I hope i succeed in at leats 3 of them!
Well. In the first term i thought i got better at being more confident which is a plus because now it is easier to complete goals for the year. oh and also i think that i got better at soccer, well im pretty sure anyway. i have been nagging mum to try and get me some lessons but and i think she is considering it. anyway i hope she desides that i can.
